Electrical Estimator / Coordinator

Roles and Responsibilities:

-Review and evaluate tendering opportunities.

-Represent our company in a professional manner at job showings.

-Review engineered tender drawings and specifications to accurately complete material and equipment take offs and ensure design requirements are respected.

-Submit all relevant information, with respect to material and equipment take off, to suppliers for pricing.

-Compare supplier’s bill of material to submitted take off to ensure accuracy and complete price comparisons of suppliers.

-Assign labour units to material and equipment take off and complete material, equipment and labour extension to complete a full estimate.

-Submit tendered quotation within time frame of bid date and time needed by customer.

-Maintain log of all tendered estimates completed.

-Follow up on tendered opportunities to obtain results and information of the comparables.

-Compare manufacturer’s bill of material to estimate take off to ensure accuracy and completeness.

-Confirm pricing and respective bill of material with supplier.

-Request approval shop drawings from suppliers and review to ensure full compliance with all job specifications, code requirements, plans and contractual agreements.

-Consolidate shop drawings into a single professional submittal to the customer for review and approval.

-Release materials from suppliers as per approved submittals.

-Co-ordinate shipments from multiple suppliers in accordance to the customers project schedule.

-Handle incoming and outgoing customer telephone calls and written correspondence in a courteous, timely, and professional manner.

-Organize and communicate all project information with project manager and site superintendents.

-Manage promptly the handling of all customer requests, including, but not limited to, change order entry, pricing, expediting, tracking and billing.

-Ensure customer experience exceeds the quality standards as defined by that customer as well our company quality standards.

-Monitor customer satisfaction and coordinate corrective action to resolve project deficiencies.

-Organize project close out documents and compile in a professional format for submittal to customer.


– Willingness to learn

-3 – 5 years of electrical estimating experience

-3 – 5 years of electrical coordination experience

-Graduate of Electrical Engineering program or Construction Technology program with related work experience preferred

-Previous experience with estimating and drawing software would be considered an asset

-Ability to manage project takeoff and bidding processes effectively.

-Motivated and able to work with deadlines

-Excellent communication and organizational skills
